Own works – photomanipulation

Diese Bilder gehören wieder zu meiner Serie "4 x 1 = 1". Die Bildquadrate können immer wieder anders kombiniert werden. Was ist zu sehen? Vereiste Flußlandschaften oder ein abgestorbener Baum. Das letzte Bild ist die Kombination aus den vier anderen Bildern.
Die Darstellung und Bearbeitung von Strukturen sind für mich ein zentrales Anliegen, weil ich die haptische Qualität eines sonst flachen digitalen Bilders herausarbeiten möchte.Diese Zielsetzung basiert auch auf meinem Interesse an Collagen und deren Weg von der Fläche ins Dreidimensionale.

This pictures belong agaín to my series in the set "4 x 1 = 1". The last picture is the combination from the others.
The rendering of structures are a special theme in my work. It is important for me to develop a haptic quality of a pictures which is flat and two-dimensional. I am very interested in the aesthetics of collages and their way to three-dimensional art.

4 x 1 = 1 Landscapes - Landschaften

Mein Anliegen ist es, Strukturen nachzuspüren. Ausgangspunkt ist häufig ein Zufallsfoto - wie ich es hier in einem Zoo aufgenommen habe: das Gesicht eines schlafenden Schimpansen.
Die vier Bilder stellen auf der einen Seite imaginäre Landschaftsformen aus der Vogelperspektive dar. Die quadratischen Formate sind beliebig kombinierbar, aber in der richtigen Kombination sieht man das Gesicht des schlafenden Schimpansen.

In my digital works I am looking for structures. Often I am using photos which I captured in the nature and in zoos. Here it is the face of a sleeping chimp. The four pictures show imaginary forms of landscapes - looking from bird's eye perpective. The squared formats of the pictures are combinable in different ways, but in the right combination you can see the face of the sleeping champ.

The basic of this work was a tradionel collage, which I did 10 years ago. Then I began in Corel Painter pop-up the colors and painted in watercolor-style.
Then I changed to Photoshop and manipulated my own work and added some another manipulated photos. I like such colorful work.
